Clint
New album released Feb 26th.
Five letters, one word - like Miles, some people don’t need a second name to identify them, and Clint simply is Clint Eastwood. As such, the Swedish jazz ensemble Oddjob sum up what their new album is about: the music of the films of this great actor, director and composer
Sumo
With Sumo (ACT 9472-2), Oddjobs ACT debut, they take the next logical step onto the international stage. On that account the five have expanded their sound-search – Rare-Groove and Psychedelic fans will get their money’s worth.
Koyo
Koyo opens with a metronome groove, featuring speaker-shaking bass, wurlitzer splashes and unison trumpet/sax lines over a slapping, loose-jointed percussion, on “Their Song”... very modern-sounding, reminscent of the Marcus Miller/Miles Davis collaborations Tutu and Amandla.
